1. Point towards yourself.
2. Hang the speculum on your index finger.
3. Hold it in place using your thumb.
4. Place your middle finger on one side of the speculum.
5. Place your ring finger on the other side.
6. The speculum can now be closed and opened, in order to allow insertion into the nose.
7. Gently insert the speculum into the nose.
8. DO NOT insert it like this, you are going to look towards the back of the nose, rather than up it.
9. Gently insert the speculum.
10. Controlling the speculum with your middle and ring fingers, allow it to slowly open.
11. Using a head mirror, reflect light into the nose to give a clear view.
